What a nightmare. Walking into a cluster bomb of bad process and clueless objectives. My team was three reps with no direction, purpose, or planning. The made calls when they wanted, offering free trials or trying to sell something. They had no CRM process, and while they were using great tools, no one could tell me a thing regarding reports.
So what did I do? I dug into the day to day of the current reps. I met with them and asked them what they wanted to do. I thought about how we could grow and started to build a strategy.
The best part is I had no idea what I am doing. Somehow I inherently knew that the only way to build on what was there, was to learn what I had. One that second day I spent hours talking to everyone on my team. Learning was my responsibility and as the current process or lack there of it continued to become clearer on that day, I knew that there would be many more lessons ahead.
I was overwhelmed and excited.
